Everyday is another chance to start fresh. To be at peace with yourself, and your body. Do what feels right to you, and not just a quick fix. Open your mind to new ideas, your soul craves it. Breathing deeply, and staying present can become a wonderful practice that will enrich your life.

Detox your mind, not just your body.
So many people are interested in a cleanse, or a detox. I often get asked what cleanse should people go on or how to go about starting one... There are so many different ways to approach this, which I'll cover in the next post. I believe that cleansing the mind is just as important if not more essential to your health. Everything starts with the mind, there is a reason you are where you are... It's your thoughts and actions that brought you here. From here, your thoughts and actions will bring you either where you really belong (finding true purpose and live it) or where you'll go because of certain habits and beliefs.
I believe that everyone is exceptionaly special and possesses a wonderful gift inside. To find what that gift is, only you can discover it by being still. Listening to your inner guide, and following your heart. Letting go of the ego and all negative chatter.
To start, all it takes is five minutes a day. Just sit in a quiet and comfortable place, relax and take long deep breaths. You will have thoughts that will come up, but sit in a way where you can be an observer of these thoughts. After some time you will see the same thoughts come up, check in with your body for how they make you feel. Realize that you have the power to be happy and "clean some thoughts out." We all throw things out of our home if we don't find any use for it or it just gets in the way, right? We have to do the same thing with certain thoughts, and add ones that we like and can make us feel complete.
When you meditate, hold a vision and feeling inside and surrender to it and let it go. Trust that the universe will work on it for you and bring it back to your life in a way that is beautiful and effortless.
Practicing this in the beginning doesn't mean it will be easy for some of us, but in the long run its definitely worth it. Not everyone can expect to undo 20,30,40 years of what they did wrong to suddenly do whats right. Be easy with yourself. Know that it takes time. Reward yourself with little things that make you happy and know that are good for you.
After some time, you will find way to meditate that works for you. There are many styles to try out, and just like trying out clothes at a store you don't have to "buy" it. The best part is that it's free, and you are in charge. A wonderful creator. Once you own this power, life will get much easier and fun. There will always be things that happen outside of your control, but one thing you can control is yourself. Be good, live good and experience good.

Michaela

Why you should drink lemon water upon rising
Even though we sometimes think that everyone knows these simple things, most people aren't applying them in their life. We all need gentle reminders to steer us in the right direction. When you start the day off right, it's easier to make the best choices for yourself the rest of the day.
Here are just a few of many benefits of water with lemon:
- Lemons are high in Vitamin C and potassium. Vitamin C is great for fighting colds (we can all use that this winter) and potassium stimulates brain and nerve function and helps control blood pressure.
- Lemons are high in pectin fiber, which helps fight hunger cravings.
- Gives you an alkaline start to your day by balancing your PH levels.
- Skin healing!! (One of my favorite benefits) It combats free radicals while the Vitamin C and antioxidants fight wrinkles and blemishes.
- Mood energizer. Lemon contains negative charged ions which gives your body energy when entering digestive tract.
- Promotes healing with its multiple anti-inflammatory properties.
- Conditions and cleans the liver and helps purify the blood.
- Feeling super fresh afterwards.
You want to use purified water and it should be warm, not super hot. I squeeze a half of lemon in each glass, always using fresh lemon, organic if possible.
I also wait at least a half hour to eat breakfast or drink my green smoothies in the AM.
Sometimes for more benefits I sprinkle cayenne pepper in it with some stevia, or even some minced ginger. You can experiment this way, I promise you this is magical =)
Of course, this is a great way to start the day but make sure you stay hydrated through out the day. Always have purified water around you.
Enjoy these amazing benefits!! Short term and especially long term.

Michaela

New Yoga Class!! Let's start off the year 2014 with greatness.
Starting tomorrow (Thursday, January 2, 2014) we are launching a new yoga class open to the public. This will be an amazing new experience to myself and my yogis, because it will be a little different than your typical yoga class... It's in Luv2Gre8 Studio in Hightstown NJ that my friend Crazy Mike owns (look him up, he's a very cool guy) ... We partnered together to create a very comfortable setting in one of his studios to practice yoga and meditation that I'm guiding. His studios are very artsy and have a very chill vibe. The yoga-tation will be followed by our requested Zen Talk which will include topics such as Manifesting, Energy, Positive thinking, Visualization and lots more! I'm just super excited to be sharing my passion with amazing people that are involved and looking forward to an amazing 2014. I hope everyone had a great holiday, now it's time to get off our butts and go with the flow =)

Breathe and be happy
We humans have anywhere from 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. But according to some research, as many as 98 percent of them are exactly the same as we had the day before. That's where meditation comes in. It has nothing to do with being "new age" or anything like that, it's just pure facts that with meditation you get to observe your thoughts. I like to start my yoga classes with a light meditation, it shows that even two to five minutes make a huge difference in a practice and setting a nice intention for the asanas. Teaching my yogis that they can do this anytime and it's the best way to start the day.
A few minutes is all that it takes. I like to do this in the morning as soon as I wake up, and when I don't, I see a huge difference in my day. So I sit at the edge of my bed, make sure that I'm relaxed and comfortable, sometimes still having my blanket over me. I gently close my eyes, and take a nice long deep breath. I put a slight smile on my face and say to myself "today I will have a great day and I will be of service and be productive", or "Everyday and in every way I'm getting better and better", or "Today will be the greatest day of my life and I will find many things that make me laugh and smile".... You get the point, and feel free to create your own intentions for your meditation practice and day. So just this simple thought and breath you are changing the flow of the day. You actually start seeing experiences that make you happy and naturally more relaxed. Of course the more you do it the better things get.
So sit, smile, and breathe. Instead of being your thoughts observe your thoughts. Notice how your body is feeling and know that you are a creator and are a beautiful powerful person.
When you get deeper into the practice you can incorporate some visualization techniques and focus on your desires. Ask for what you want. Know that this is already happening. You are in charge. You don't have to know how this will come about, but use the visuals, feelings and thoughts you have about having it will bring all the answers. Strengthen your rich brain. By rich brain I mean use it for positivity, good feelings and success in all aspects. You have one life and you deserve to feel great. Start your morning right and be in the moment. Notice the difference.

Believe and Receive.. more than you could ever imagine
All the things you want are already in you. When you bring your attention to these things (in meditation) and attach a good positive feeling to it and release it into the universe everything shifts. Those things that you are wishing for start showing up in your life, or bring you towards them through different circumstances. Since you are connecting to that thought, that single step, is showing you that you are ready to receive. Now of course all the things that we wish for have to be believable and achiavable, but don't limit your self. Sometimes better things come to you, things that you couldn't even imagine because experiencing what you wanted is so much better than just imagining it. Believe in miracles. You are a miracle. Believe in yourself.
Connect to yourself with meditation. Find a few minutes in the day, preferably as you wake up and just focus on your breath. Take beautiful long breaths and smile and know that you will have a wonderful day ahead. Send love and gratitude into your day. When you connect like this, believe me when I say, you will notice amazing changes in your day (life).
Im off to have an amazing day my self... Happy Holidays everyone. This is the season to wish and believe.
